Why engineers want to pursue MBA and give CAT, GMAT, doormat, ulti-mat(I know bad one but cud not resist..) who cares so here goes
Reasons to go in for MBA or mgmt position:
1) You hate coding, there was a time when I thought I could find a cure for cancer(oops wrong time period I was preparing for medical then)when I thought I could give bill gates a run for his money(yea I was that ambitious, I am not going to admit stupid although it seems like apple guy, steve jobs is the one for now) but within few months of working I realised how boring coding can be and how subsequent attempts at it slowly rusts your brain and dampens any leftover spirit..
2) Managers just keep asking who is doing what, that is after 2 years of obtaining a degree, I mean cmon I can be really competent at that..
3)They just have to know how to work with MS word, ppt and if really proficient then MS project and here I am struggling with the complete new version of some application every few months, what upgrade does Word ever have some new font I never knew about
4)Make some good dough, who would not want to get paid for asking folks wat work are "You" doing, you really get paid for that
5) Gives you a lot more visibility in company and if u r smart enuff u can patao some big hotshot(at least thats what i keep dreaming off) are both the google folks taken already..
6)More rep in family I mean engineers are everywhere, u pick up a stone and u will find 50 below it thats how many there are, every remote village has an engg school but MBA now that suggests you had money(look at the education cost) and will finally land a good job (or how the hell u plan to pay off all those education costs)
Thats all the inspiration I could muster, wat say people, any more reasons to go for it or as Nike profoundly said Just do it!
